Next to the Holy Trinity Column is an astronomical clock, very different from the one in Prague. When the asshole Nazis were leaving Czech in 1945 they open fired at the clock as they were walking past. What sore losers! When the communists rolled in they rebuilt the clock with a commie theme.
I met two very beautiful Czech girls a had a couple drinks with them. They were planning on moving to New Zealand later that week. So I gave them lots of advice on what to do while they are there. They too gave me a few tips on Czech life.
I stayed at a hostel called Poets Corner. It is owned by an Australian couple. They need a course in how to run a hostel. Its a long story. I think I have just stayed in way to many of them now. The other backpackers that were staying there the same night were quite good people. A Scottish guy that worked there, an American, Brit, and Northern Irish. They were all trying to find jobs as an English teacher, too. They were complaining that they could get any interviews while I have had about eight. Not to sure what they have been doing with there time in Czech. I guess they have just been getting drunk because you can do it really cheap. We all went out and got pretty sloshed just on about six dollars each.
While I was in Olomouc I went for a traditional Moravian meal. For lunch I had some kind of a potato pancake with mushrooms, ham, and goat cheese. It was one of the better meals that I have had in Czech so far. I can't wait until I head back to Olomouc just to go order it again for this restaurant.
Her are some pics from St. Michael's church. It is not much to look at from the outside but the inside is quite magnificent.
